The European Parliament today approved the Consumer Programme 2014-2020 with an overwhelming majority.
The EPP Group Shadow Rapporteur, Roberta Metsola MEP, said: "After tough negotiations, this programme will see €189m dedicated to improving consumer protection. In particular, I welcome the improved consumer information systems, such as price comparison websites which were included in the Report. This sends an important message to European citizens that the European Parliament places consumer protection at the top of its agenda."
